Marcus Van Ameringen is a seasoned seniors housing transaction professional with over five years of experience in selling, acquiring, and underwriting seniors housing, skilled nursing and real estate projects. Marcus is founder of Marcus & Associates Senior Living, LLC, a boutique investment brokerage. He has closed more than $30MM in transactions and brings senior level management experience in seniors housing to every deal having served in VP roles for five companies.
He led senior housing investment sales as Vice President at Colliers International, Atlanta, then serving as Vice President of Acquisitions at Lloyd Jones SL and Vice President of Business Development for 12 Oaks Senior Living. Earlier in his career, he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Wellington Healthcare LP, driving premium mix revenues and sales strategy. He began his career as Director of Market Research for Life Care Centers of America.
Marcus is a frequent moderator and panelist at regional industry events. He earned his MBA in Marketing from Vanderbilt University, Owen Graduate School of Management. He received a Masters in Music History from University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory and earned a BA from Auckland University, New Zealand. He lives in Plano, Texas with his wife.

Marcus & Associates / Buckley Shuler Properties Inc., facilitated the sale of St. Ives Memory Care, a 38 unit free standing community in Johns Creek, Ga. The property was closed having experienced operational setbacks during Covid. This transaction, which involved a favorable HUD loan assumption, was complicated by a winter freeze causing internal flooding and insurance issues.
